A highly regarded model in Northern Indiana where the air can be quite dry in the winter, Scherl & Roth step-up violins are hand-crafted with select solid spruce tops, flamed maple back and sides, and hand-applied spirit varnish. Each instrument is hand-adjusted in our shop and set-up with Dominant strings, ebony fingerboard and pegs, select French maple bridge, and a composite tailpiece.

Sweetwater Band & Orchestra has brought in the Yamaha series of intermediate violins to address the climate restraints of string instrument music in the Midwest. Handcrafted from selected natural woods, the AV7G makes the ideal first instrument for beginners wanting a genuine violin. Each instrument is carefully handcrafted and finished with special oil varnish shading that offers a lustrous appearance. The lightweight tailpiece also features four fine tuners that provide first time players with the ease of use they need as they start playing.

Quality

Fully hand-carved, the AV7’s spruce top, maple neck, back and sides are seasoned and aged for over five years. The reddish-gold shading with flamed back and sides, and solid ebony fittings give this instrument a personality unlike any other. Complemented with a Wittner™ tailpiece, the AV7 will stand out the second an audience lays its eyes on these quality details.
