The King Silver Flair Series Bb Trumpet offers a .462" bore with a responsive 4-7/8" seamless bell for easy projection and control. The first valve thumb saddle makes for easy intonation adjustments. The silver-plated finish provides a controlled brilliance to the overall sound. The Custom Z was born of Yamaha’s long and close partnership with legendary trumpet player Bobby Shew and is a common trumpet in Midwestern college jazz band programs. In 2018 Yamaha and Bobby collaborated to create a second-generation YTR-8310Z, further refining the brilliant tone and well-balanced playing resistance demanded by contemporary styles. To match the musical nuance he’s known for, Bobby needed a versatile, efficient instrument that could wail out powerful lead lines and also play soft, mellow ballads. Yamaha has developed the new Custom Z to satisfy all of Bobby’s playing requirements while retaining the highest level of precision and consistency.

New Two-piece Valve Casing

In order to produce the powerful, well-defined tone that today’s jazz players demand, the conventional one-piece valve casing has been replaced with a two-piece design. This refinement adds depth and core to the instrument’s tone while also balancing the playing resistance. One-piece Side-seam Bell

A one-piece, Yellow brass bell plays an important role in achieving a brilliant tone and outstanding projection. The bell also features a side seam that passes through the points where tubing braces dampen vibration, for more open resonance.

French Bead Bell Rim

Unlike traditional methods that produce a round bell rim, the more advanced French bead technique results in a flat-dome rim shape that enhances feedback to the performer.

TR-SHEW-JAZZ Mouthpiece

This jazz mouthpiece has a fairly deep, roomy cup for a big, warm sound. The throat and backbore are designed to provide enough “jump and snap” to nimbly maneuver through quick jazz passages with rich, full tone.

New bell design

A new bell design contributes to optimum resistance for a powerful tonal core and accurate slotting. The new design also enhances playability in the upper register.

Thinner valve casing and pistons, as well as the modified angle of the branch tube (knuckle) result in improved response and provide the performer with an ideal blowing resistance.

First slide button serves to fine tune the blowing resistance for optimum control.

Improved Water Key

The height of the main slide water key gutter has been increased for optimum resistance, and the ends of the water key spring have been curled for improved response.

The Bach 180 series trumpet is the number-one-selling professional trumpet in the world. The 180S37 features a #37 one-piece, hand-hammered professional bell that produces a warm sound with great projection, allowing this instrument to work well in multiple musical settings — from jazz to concert to solo playing. The #25 leadpipe allows for slight resistance and is effective in centering tone production. The silver-plated finish provides a controlled brilliance to the overall sound.
